TEAM RISP- Dukes:

Tommy Holmes
collected 2 extra-base hits and had 3 RBI as the Amboy Dukes won
in dramatic
fashion over the Fullerton Titans by a score of 8 to 6 at Forbes
Field.
Amboy put a big
number on the board in the top of the 9th inning, which proved
too much for
Fullerton to overcome when they exploded for 7 runs on 4 hits.
The highlight
belonged to Holmes who disappointed the partisan crowd when he
tripled clearing
all three ducks off the pond. Even
though they scored in 5
different
innings, Fullerton was not able to pull off the win.
The win was
credited to Harry Gumbert(1-0) who went 2 innings
allowing 1 run.
Joe Berry gained
credit for his 1st save. Tommy De La Cruz(0-1) was given
the loss in
relief.
'I pin this one
on my own shoulders,' De La Cruz said. 'The bottom line is I
didn't get the
job done. Our fans deserve better than
this.'
