Harry Walker had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Delaware Destroyers. staged a

dramatic comeback over the Missouri Bombers by a score of 5 to 4 at Comiskey

Park.

Delaware erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning with 3 runs

utilizing 4 base hits.  Tommy Tatum led off the inning for Delaware when he

lined a one-base hit.  Wally Moses struck out, unable to help the rally.  Don

Kolloway then banged out a single.  Walker was up next and he tripled which

was good for two runs.  George Kell stepped into the box and singled scoring

the final run of the inning.  Hugh Casey came throught with a perfect ninth

inning to earn his 1st save.

Ken Heintzelman(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.

Fred Hutchinson(0-1) suffered the loss in relief.  He was knocked around

pretty good, giving up 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Hutchinson was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get

away.  What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans.  One

minute things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I

get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'
