35,774 fans watched an exciting game at Sportstman's Park.  The Golden

Retrievers topped the Missouri Bombers by the slimmest of margins, 5 to

4.

 

Golden won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 8th inning plating 2

runs on 2 hits.  After two were out Gus Mancuso started the rally when he

reached on an error.  Billy Jurges stepped up next and he tripled bringing in

a run.  Tom McBride then lined a single scoring the final run of the inning.

Missouri had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. 

 

The victory went to Alex Carrasquel(2-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs.

Andy Karl recorded the save, his 1st.  Dick Mauney(0-1) was hit with the loss

in relief.
