to claim the lead after Golden went ahead in the 3rd inning
with 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was
recorded, Joe Kuhel
initiated the
scoring spurt when he doubled. Jim
Gleeson struck out, unable
to help the
rally. Harry Gumbert then let one slip
out of his hand for a
wild pitch. Tommy Henrich followed and he smashed a
two-run homer. Golden
had 11 hits
overall, while Amboy had 6.
Bucky Walters(1-0) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the
victory.
Walters was
