George Kell had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Delaware Destroyers. defeated the

Missouri Bombers in 11 innings by a score of 6 to 5 at Yankee Stadium.

 

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings.  Delaware came out on

top in the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Wally Moses started the

attack as he doubled.  Bobby Brown stepped up to the plate and he ripped a

one-base hit.  After another out, Kell then ripped a base-knock resulting in

an exciting win for Delaware and a raucous post-game celebration by the home

town fans.  Delaware totaled 13 hits on the night. 

 

The victory was credited to Hugh Casey(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing 1 run.

Blix Donnelly(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.
