Luke Appling smacked 2 triples as the Missouri Bombers topped the Golden

Retrievers by a score of 8 to 4 at Sportstman's Park.

 

Golden fell behind quickly as the Missouri offense came through in the first

inning as they scored 4 runs on 4 base hits.  The highlight belonged to Hank

Greenberg who silenced Sportstman's Park as he doubled scoring two

baserunners.  Golden was out-hit by Missouri, 14 hits to 11. 

 

The victory was credited to Red Barrett(2-0) who went 5 and 1/3 innings,

allowing 4 runs. Dizzy Trout was credited with his 1st save.  Tom Seats(0-1)

was the losing pitcher.  He was touched for 7 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings.
