Shortstop Arky Vaughan had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Sportsman'S Park as the Amboy

Dukes beat the Golden Retrievers by the count of 10 to 9.

 

Amboy promptly took the lead in their half of the first with 3 runs on 3 base

hits.  Doc Cramer opened up the inning nicely when he lined a base-hit.

Cramer was running on the next pitch and he stole second.  Stan Hack then

drew a walk.  Vaughan followed next and he smacked a single to load the

bases.  Johnny Mize came to the plate and hit a deep fly.  Debs Garms added

his contribution to the rally and ripped a single.  Amboy and Golden each

finished the night with 12 hits. 

 

Rip Sewell(2-0) got the win allowing 5 runs in 5 innings. Clyde Shoun gained

credit for his 1st save.  Bucky Walters(1-1) absorbed the loss.  He got

hammered, allowing 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings.
