In a dramatic ending at Comiskey Park the Kansas City A’s won in their last

at-bat beating the Suwanee Manatees by the count of 8 to 7.

 

The deciding run was scored by Kansas City in the 9th.  Hank Thompson smashed

a solo-shot out of the park making Kansas City victorious to the delight of

the the home town crowd.  Kansas City rapped out 12 hits for the night.

 

Warren Hacker(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 1 inning. Jim Hughes(0-1)

took the loss in relief.  He allowed 1 run and 1 hit without retiring a

batter.
