The Suwanee Manatees readily handled Kansas City A’s by a score of 7 to 3 at

Comiskey Park.

 

Suwanee scored 4 runs in the 5th inning when they had 3 base hits.  The

crucial at-bat was provided by Al Rosen who disappointed the partisan crowd

when he cleared the fences for a two-run home run.  Suwanee won despite being

out-hit by Kansas City 9 hits to 6. 

 

Bob Porterfield(2-0) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 and 1/3

innings. The loss was charged to Virgil Trucks(0-2).  He surrendered 4 hits

and 6 walks in 7 innings.
